| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Mrs. Elsie Joe Jackson Caldwell, who recently |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | celebrated her 90th birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A woman of great charm and grace, Mrs. Elsie Joe |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Jackson Caldwell is well known for her generosity of spirit, and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | she is a beloved and respected member of her community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, She was born on March 2, 1929, in Hallsville; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | after attending Prairie View A&M University, she moved to Dallas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and began a long and fulfilling career as a respiratory |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | therapist, first with Woodlawn Hospital and later with the United |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | States Veterans Administration; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Caldwell has been blessed with a wonderful |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | family; she and her beloved husband, the late J. P. Caldwell, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | raised two children together, Melva and Jimmy Caldwell; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, She remains active as a full-time worker with her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | daughter's foster children; a devout Christian who practices her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | faith in her daily life, she is a longtime member of Full Gospel |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Holy Temple and has made multiple trips to the Holy Land; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Caldwell has lived through times and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | experienced events that many people only know through history |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | books, and there is much to be learned from the insights she has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | gained through the years; she is noted for her warmth and wise |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | counsel and inspires those around her with her enthusiasm for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Mrs. Elsie Joe Jackson |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Caldwell on the occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for many happy returns; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
