| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Bob Bullock Scholars Program of Baylor University |

| 4 | 4 | | and the young scholars participating in this year's program; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2000 to honor the memory of |

| 6 | 6 | | Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, this exemplary program promotes |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the study of politics by Baylor University students; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each student in the program works for a member of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the Texas Legislature on a full-time basis during the legislative |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | session to learn firsthand about the political structure of Texas |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | government; the Bob Bullock Scholars Program is an outstanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | opportunity for those who seek to serve others through a career |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in public service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James A. Curry, the Bob Bullock Professor of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Public Policy and Administration at Baylor University, has served |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | as director of the program since its inception; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, There are six Bob Bullock Scholars participating |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with the Texas Senate in the 2019 session of the Texas |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Legislature: Daniel Burch with Senator Brian Birdwell, Cat |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Haseman with Senator Judith Zaffirini, Kaitlin Kassal with the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Senate Committee on Finance, Amelia Tidwell with the Senate |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Committee on Education, Jackie Wittry with Senator Larry Taylor, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and Tanner Wright with Senator Kirk Watson; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Baylor University's Bob |

| 26 | 26 | | Bullock Scholars Program and commend this year's scholars for |

| 27 | 27 | | their participation in the state's governmental process; and, be |
