44 Jerome Kenneth Findley
55 WHEREAS, Jerome Kenneth Findley, a successful attorney and
66 an esteemed member of the Tyler community, passed away on July
77 14, 2018, at the age of 73; and
88 WHEREAS, A fifth-generation Texan, Ken Findley was born in
99 Dallas on March 1, 1945, to Jack and Doris Findley, and he grew up
1010 with a sister, Jacqueline; he and his wife, Annette Sterlacci
1111 Findley, shared a rewarding relationship that spanned 46 years,
1212 and he was the proud father of two sons, Jonathan Kyle Findley and
1313 the late Jerome Kenneth Findley II; and
1414 WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in business
1515 administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1970,
1616 Mr. Findley graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1977; he
1717 worked in the oil and gas industry in Houston before moving to
1818 Tyler in 1982 and setting up his own private practice; he was a
1919 member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Bar
2020 College, and Lawyers of Distinction, and he received the
2121 Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent peer review rating; he was also
2222 a lifetime member of Mensa; and
2323 WHEREAS, Mr. Findley and his wife were leaders in their
2424 community, actively supporting the Women's Symphony League of
2525 Tyler, the Tyler Museum of Art, Tyler Day Nursery, and other
2626 local institutions; deeply devoted to his loved ones, he took
2727 great pleasure in planning adventures for his family, and as a
2828 BoyScoutleader,hehelpedhistwosonsbecomeEagleScouts;his
2929 other interests included reading history and autobiographies and
3030 riding his Harley on back roads throughout the United States; and
3131 WHEREAS, A loving husband and father and a highly respected
3232 lawyer, Ken Findley lived a rich and purposeful life, and he will
3333 be long remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now,
3434 therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
3636 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jerome Kenneth
3737 Findley and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many
3838 friends; and, be it further
3939 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
4040 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
4141 this day, it do so in memory of Ken Findley.
