5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Kenneth Findley, a successful attorney and |

6 | 6 | | an esteemed member of the Tyler community, passed away on July |
---|
7 | 7 | | 14, 2018, at the age of 73; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A fifth-generation Texan, Ken Findley was born in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Dallas on March 1, 1945, to Jack and Doris Findley, and he grew up |
---|
10 | 10 | | with a sister, Jacqueline; he and his wife, Annette Sterlacci |
---|
11 | 11 | | Findley, shared a rewarding relationship that spanned 46 years, |
---|
12 | 12 | | and he was the proud father of two sons, Jonathan Kyle Findley and |
---|
13 | 13 | | the late Jerome Kenneth Findley II; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in business |
---|
15 | 15 | | administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1970, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Mr. Findley graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1977; he |
---|
17 | 17 | | worked in the oil and gas industry in Houston before moving to |
---|
18 | 18 | | Tyler in 1982 and setting up his own private practice; he was a |
---|
19 | 19 | | member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Bar |
---|
20 | 20 | | College, and Lawyers of Distinction, and he received the |
---|
21 | 21 | | Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent peer review rating; he was also |
---|
22 | 22 | | a lifetime member of Mensa; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Findley and his wife were leaders in their |
---|
24 | 24 | | community, actively supporting the Women's Symphony League of |
---|
25 | 25 | | Tyler, the Tyler Museum of Art, Tyler Day Nursery, and other |
---|
26 | 26 | | local institutions; deeply devoted to his loved ones, he took |
---|
27 | 27 | | great pleasure in planning adventures for his family, and as a |
---|
28 | 28 | | BoyScoutleader,hehelpedhistwosonsbecomeEagleScouts;his |
---|
29 | 29 | | other interests included reading history and autobiographies and |
---|
30 | 30 | | riding his Harley on back roads throughout the United States; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, A loving husband and father and a highly respected |
---|
32 | 32 | | lawyer, Ken Findley lived a rich and purposeful life, and he will |
---|
33 | 33 | | be long remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, |
---|
34 | 34 | | therefore, be it |

35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

36 | 36 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jerome Kenneth |
---|
37 | 37 | | Findley and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many |

38 | 38 | | friends; and, be it further |

39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
