| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, With the victory, the Lady Red Devils claimed the |

| 7 | 7 | | program's first state trophy, and they capped a remarkable year |

| 8 | 8 | | in which they compiled an unblemished overall record of 37 wins |

| 9 | 9 | | and no losses; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In the course of its thrilling playoff run, Chapel |

| 11 | 11 | | Hill defeated Omaha Pewitt, Elysian Fields, New Boston, Mineola, |

| 12 | 12 | | and Edgewood High Schools to advance to the state tournament; |

| 13 | 13 | | after dispatching Wall High in the semifinals, the Lady Red |

| 14 | 14 | | Devils met Woodville High School in the title contest; with the |

| 15 | 15 | | state crown on the line, the Chapel Hill players overcame a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | first-quarter deficit with clutch shooting and a stout defense to |

| 17 | 17 | | record a 55-46 triumph; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The squad was paced by the game's Most Valuable |

| 19 | 19 | | Player, Ja'Mya Bishop, who tallied 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 |

| 20 | 20 | | assists; excelling with a true team effort, the Lady Red Devils |

| 21 | 21 | | also received valuable contributions throughout the season from |

| 22 | 22 | | the other members of the roster, and these determined |

| 23 | 23 | | student-athletes benefited from the skillful guidance of head |

| 24 | 24 | | coach Matt Garrett and assistant coach Courtney Garrett; and |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the |

| 27 | 27 | | commitment to excellence, and the Lady Red Devils of Chapel Hill |
