| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 3 | 3 | | by a great and enduring love, Buster and Hortense Walker celebrated |

| 4 | 4 | | their 76th wedding anniversary on December 5, 2018; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Walker were united in matrimony in |

| 6 | 6 | | Mount Pleasant in 1942, while Mr. Walker was home on leave from |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | his service in the United States Coast Guard during World War II; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | over the years, their family has grown to include their children, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Billy Walker and his wife, Carolyn, Bobby Walker and his wife, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Cynthia, Cher Underwood and her husband, Billy, and John Walker |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and his wife, Beverly, as well as 9 grandchildren and 13 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Lifelong residents of the Monticello community, |

| 14 | 14 | | Mr. and Mrs. Walker are members of First Baptist Church in Mount |

| 15 | 15 | | Pleasant, where Mr. Walker is a retired deacon; and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |

| 17 | 17 | | 76 years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Buster and Hortense Walker on |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | their 76th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |

| 24 | 24 | | wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
