| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, A 75th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 3 | 3 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and George and Virginia |

| 4 | 4 | | Williams of Paris, Texas, celebrated this joyous milestone in |

| 5 | 5 | | their marriage on December 31, 2018; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Williams fell in love at first sight |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | when they met at the Bonham Drug Company soda fountain while |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Mr. Williams was serving as a United States Army Air Corps flight |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | instructor at Jones Field, and they exchanged wedding vows on New |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Year's Eve 1943; over the years, they have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | treasured family that includes their children, Don, Janett, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Susan, and Paul, and grandchildren, Dale, Donna, Lee, Melissa, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Kristi, David, Matthew, Sean, and Vesta, as well as 19 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Williams began his career as the founder of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the Williams Tile Company, and he went on to enjoy 20 years with |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Campbell Soup Company and another two decades as a tile |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | contractor before retiring at the age of 85; Mrs. Williams is a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | respected textile artist and self-taught seamstress, and she is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | renowned for her beautiful quilts; valued residents of the Paris |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community since the late 1940s, the couple have been active in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the North Star 8 Square Dance Club, and Mrs. Williams is also a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | member of Beta Sigma Phi; they take time together each afternoon |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to share pie and coffee at the home where they have lived since |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 1950; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, George and Virginia Williams have enjoyed seven |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and a half decades of abiding love and affection for each other, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate George and Virginia Williams on |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | their 75th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |

| 33 | 33 | | wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
