| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Sergeant Robert "Bobby" Weist, who has been selected |

| 4 | 4 | | for the Employee Spotlight of January 2019 by the Texas Alcoholic |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Beverage Commission; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Weist is being honored for his |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | participation in a wide range of projects that have benefited the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | people of El Paso and West Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, He played an important role in the success of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1st Annual Holiday Harvest Food Drive at the El Pasoans Fighting |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Hunger Food Bank, during which he helped to collect, package, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distribute hundreds of pounds of food for underprivileged area |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | families; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An unwavering supporter of the nation's military |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | veterans, Sergeant Weist has been active in the Honor Flight |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | program, which flies combat veterans to Washington, D.C., to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | visit the capital city's war memorials; he brought together his |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | fellow law enforcement officers from agencies across the area and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | organized one of the most impressive Honor Flight motorcades in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | history and served as a guardian on the flight; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary peace officer, Sergeant Weist is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | dedicated to making a difference in his community, and it is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | truly fitting that he receive special recognition for his many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributions to the people of El Paso and the West Texas area; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Sergeant Robert Weist on his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | commitment to serving his fellow Texans and extend |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | congratulations to him on being named for the Employee Spotlight |
