| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the residents of Fairfield and the members of the |

| 4 | 4 | | Fairfield Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of Fairfield Day at |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | the Capitol on April 4, 2019; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The City of Fairfield was founded in 1851 and is |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the seat of Freestone County; the historic courthouse was |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | constructed in 1919, and it remains the focal point of the town |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | square; agriculture, along with coal and natural gas, form the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | basis of the area's economy; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | serving as the voice of the community by educating, leading, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | promoting economic development and tourism in the region; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The chamber is ably led by its board of directors, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | which consists of: Gail Farish, chair; Josh Bayless, vice chair; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Brenda Finley, secretary; Gina Martin, treasurer; Libby Harris, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Eli Pratt, and Averie Grant, directors; and Brenda Pate, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | executive director; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The people of Fairfield are confidently looking |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | forward to the future while continuing to embrace their rich and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | colorful past; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the people of Fairfield on their many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributions to the growth and prosperity of our state and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend to all best wishes for a memorable Fairfield Day at the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
