1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	join Texans across the state in celebrating January 29, 2019, as
4	4	Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas Legislative Day at the
5	5	Capitol; and
6	6	WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas is a
7	7	nonprofit organization with the mission of restoring the lives of
8	8	abused and neglected children; founded with a charter membership
9	9	of 13 centers, the organization now has 71 advocacy centers
10	10	located throughout the state; and
11	11	WHEREAS, The organization provides a wide range of vital
12	12	services to local centers, including training, technical
13	13	assistance and support, and evaluation services; and
14	14	WHEREAS, The 71 local centers serve nearly 60,000 children
15	15	each year; staff members work closely with multidisciplinary teams
16	16	that include local law enforcement and prosecution and the Texas
17	17	Department of Family and Protective Services to coordinate joint
18	18	investigations of child abuse and to help victims receive the
19	19	services they need to achieve safety, justice, and healing; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Child abuse is an issue that affects all Texans,
21	21	and it is truly fitting that the Children's Advocacy Centers of
22	22	Texas and its member centers receive special recognition for
23	23	their outstanding work in protecting the state's most vulnerable
24	24	citizens; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
26	26	Legislature, hereby commend the administrators, staff, and
27	27	volunteers of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas and its
28	28	member centers on their efforts on behalf of the state's abused
29	29	and neglected children and extend to them best wishes for a
30	30	rewarding and productive Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas
31	31	Legislative Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
32	32	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
33	33	this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from
34	34	the Texas Senate.
