| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Rural Water Association is celebrating |

| 3 | 3 | | its 50th anniversary as an organization, holding its 50th annual |

| 4 | 4 | | convention in Austin from March 27 through March 29, 2019, and |

| 5 | 5 | | congregating at the State Capitol on March 27 for Texas Rural |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Water Day; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Rural Water Association is a statewide |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | trade organization with an active membership of more than 760 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | rural water and wastewater utilities, including nonprofit water |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | supply corporations, water districts, small-town water |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | departments, and investor-owned utilities, that serve |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | approximately 3 million Texans; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Rural Water Association is dedicated to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | educating water and wastewater utility professionals and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | supporting their efforts to provide efficient service and clean, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | safe drinking water; it also provides legal support services, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | fosters workforce development programs, and advocates for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | reasonable, practical, and affordable regulation for water and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | wastewater systems; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Since 1969, the Texas Rural Water Association has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | done its best to ensure access to safe and affordable water and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | wastewater services for those who produce food and fiber for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | communities in every part of the Lone Star State, and Texas Rural |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Water Day is an opportunity to commend the association and its |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | members for their valuable public service; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 27, 2019, as Texas Rural |

| 28 | 28 | | Water Day at the State Capitol and extend to members of the Texas |
