| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Ruth Vaults on the grand occasion of her 70th birthday; and |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Johns was born in Austin, Texas, on April 4, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 1949; she attended Round Rock High School and Austin Community |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | College, and she later completed a professional floral design |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | program; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruth enjoyed a long and rewarding career with the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | City of Austin Health Department; she was honored as an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | outstanding employee for her meritorious service and her |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | dedication to her work on behalf of the residents of Austin and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Travis County, and she retired in 2001 after 23 years with the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | organization; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ruth married Lawrence C. Vaults on September 2, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1995; she raised her five children by loving example, and her 12 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | grandchildren are a source of immense pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep spiritual devotion, Mrs. Vaults |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | is an active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | serves as a deaconess and in various ministries; she is a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | wonderful cook and an avid shopper, and those close to her are |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | continually inspired by her generous heart and the kindness she |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | bestows on friends and strangers alike; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Vaults is a cherished member of the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | community, and her many friends and loved ones are gathering to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | celebrate her 70th birthday at a surprise party on April 6, 2019; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Ruth Vaults as a treasured citizen |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of the Lone Star State and extend to her congratulations on her |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 70th birthday; and, be it further |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
