| 3 | 3 | | is moving its headquarters to Frisco; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, The result of a groundbreaking public-private |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | agreement, the new 100,000-square-foot headquarters will anchor |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | a 600-acre, mixed-use development that is expected to bring more |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | than $2.5 billion into the region's economy over the next 20 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | years; in addition to the PGA and the City of Frisco, other |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | stakeholders who contributed to the agreement include the city's |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | economic and community development corporations, the board of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the Frisco Independent School District, and the Omni Stillwater |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Woods partnership; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The complex will be home to two championship golf |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | courses, a short course, and practice areas totaling 45 holes, as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | well as a clubhouse; scheduled to open in 2022, the courses will |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | host several PGA championship tournaments, including the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2023; moreover, the complex |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | will include a 500-room Omni Hotel resort, a 127,000-square-foot |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | conference center, a state-of-the-art retail village, parks and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | open space, and several miles of walking trails; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Rated by Money magazine in 2018 as the "Best Place |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to Live" in the nation, Frisco is thriving, and this new addition |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to the city promises to make significant contributions to the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Frisco for becoming the new |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | national headquarters of the Professional Golfers' Association of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | America and extend to the city's officials and other stakeholders |
