| 3 | 3 | | Austin on March 26 and 27, 2019, to celebrate Collin County Days |

| 4 | 4 | | at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A thriving area in the heart of North Texas, |

| 6 | 6 | | Collin County is one of the largest and fastest-growing counties |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in the state, and it is now home to an estimated 980,000 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | residents; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Plano is the county's largest city and the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | location of six Fortune 1000 companies; McKinney, the county |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | seat, along with Allen, Frisco, Wylie, Richardson, Murphy, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Prosper, Fairview, Celina, Lucas, Parker, Anna, Melissa, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Farmersville, Lavon, Blue Ridge, and numerous small towns make up |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | much of the rest of the county and together are recognized for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | their charming blend of country and cosmopolitan qualities; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Collin County's economy remains strong and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | vibrant thanks to highly skilled workers who make the county a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | leader in job growth; more than 90 percent of its workforce over |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the age of 25 hold a high school diploma and about half have |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | earned at least a bachelor's degree; the county also boasts an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | excellent public education system, and Forbes magazine in 2016 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | ranked the schools in Collin County collectively as among the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | best in the entire country; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Collin County offers attractive scenery and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | excellent recreational opportunities, and its inviting, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | friendly residents are welcoming to individuals, families, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | businesses; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of this notable North Texas county |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | are working to preserve the best of their past even as they look |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | forward to a bright and promising future, and they are sure to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | figure prominently in the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | State in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 26 and 27, 2019, as Collin |
