| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters and Texans |

| 4 | 4 | | across the state in celebrating March 26, 2019, as Firefighter |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Day at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas State Association of Fire Fighters was |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | established in 1938, and it is the state's only professional, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | career organization dedicated to serving firefighters; it |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | represents 179 local affiliates and more than 18,000 firefighter |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | members across the state; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The firefighters of Texas daily place themselves |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in harm's way in order to protect the lives and property of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texans; they undergo countless hours of training, and they |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | consistently demonstrate courage and sound judgment in carrying |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | out the unique responsibilities of a firefighter's duty; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that a day be set aside to pay |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | tribute to these dedicated and courageous public servants; now, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend the firefighters of Texas on their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | commitment to protecting the citizens of Texas and extend to them |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | best wishes for a rewarding Firefighter Day at the Capitol; and, |
