8 | 8 | | Northside O'Connor, Austin Westlake, and Laredo United High |

9 | 9 | | Schools to reach the 6A Region IV final; prevailing 71-44 over |

10 | 10 | | Northside Clark High School, Judson earned its third consecutive |

11 | 11 | | trip to the state tournament in the UIL's highest classification, |

12 | 12 | | the first time a San Antonio-area team has done so; and |

13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Determined to reverse the heartbreak of 2018, |

14 | 14 | | when their title bid fell short by just four points, the Judson |

15 | 15 | | players opened the 2019 state tournament with a 58-47 semifinal |

16 | 16 | | victory over Allen High School; the team then battled DeSoto High |

17 | 17 | | for the crown in a hard-fought contest that saw DeSoto take the |

18 | 18 | | lead in the third quarter; showing tremendous heart down the |

19 | 19 | | stretch, the Lady Rockets scored two clutch baskets and two free |

20 | 20 | | throws in the final two minutes to win by a final score of 49-46; |

21 | 21 | | with the victory, Judson became the first local school to claim a |
---|
22 | 22 | | girls' basketball state championship; and |

23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Judson was led by championship game Most Valuable |

24 | 24 | | Player Corina Carter, who scored 20 points, and she was joined on |

25 | 25 | | the 6A All-Tournament Team by Kierra Sanderlin and Kyra White; |
