1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 516
2	2	WHEREAS, Public-spirited citizens from across the Lone
3	3	Star State are gathering in Austin on April 2, 2019, to advocate
4	4	for women and their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the
5	5	State Capitol; and
6	6	WHEREAS, Organizers Carol Jablonski and Tammie Hartgroves
7	7	of Texas Democratic Women and Crystal Perkins, executive
8	8	director of the Texas Democratic Party, are joined by concerned
9	9	women and leaders from around the state on Blue Ribbon Lobby Day,
10	10	which provides an occasion to bring attention to issues important
11	11	to Texas women, including public education, health care, and
12	12	economic security; and
13	13	WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women are
14	14	meeting with legislators to discuss the need for ensuring that
15	15	women have equal opportunities and that their rights are equally
16	16	protected in order that Texas' prosperity may continue; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to
18	18	call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families
19	19	and to work to make a positive difference in the Lone Star State;
20	20	now, therefore, be it
21	21	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
22	22	Legislature, hereby recognize April 2, 2019, as Blue Ribbon Lobby
23	23	Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the
24	24	advocates who are visiting here today.
