| 5 | 5 | | Alamodome in San Antonio; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Following a disappointing loss in the 2018 state |

| 7 | 7 | | tournament semifinals, the Dragons came back with a vengeance |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | during the 2018-2019 campaign; they were undefeated in district |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | play and went on to dominate in the playoffs, defeating Gary, |

| 10 | 10 | | Hull-Daisetta, Cushing, Lovelady, and Grapeland High Schools to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | once again punch their ticket to the state tournament; in their |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | semifinal matchup, they overwhelmed Hearne by a score of 83-51, |

| 13 | 13 | | setting the stage for a showdown with Gruver High for the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | championship crown; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Though Gruver took the lead in the game's opening |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | minutes, Shelbyville took command with a 19-2 run later in the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | first quarter and never looked back; the Dragons stayed true to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | their reputation as an offensive powerhouse, leading by as many |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | as 24 points in the second half, and winning by a final tally of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 67-48; the team rounded out an exceptional season with an overall |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | record of 39-3 and collected its first state championship since |
|---|

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Dragons |
