| 5 | 5 | | sanctioned championship cook-off, the event attracts talented |

| 6 | 6 | | chefs from across the state; these highly skilled pit masters put |

| 7 | 7 | | their culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the |

| 8 | 8 | | tastiest entries in several different categories; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This much-anticipated community gathering raises |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | funds for the Southwest Area Buyers Club, a nonprofit |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | organization that provides support to FFA and 4-H members in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | southwest Bexar County; as part of its mission, the club offers |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | assistance to students in completing their livestock projects, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and it also awards four $500 scholarships each year to deserving |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | area seniors; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Texans are renowned for their love of barbecue, |

| 17 | 17 | | and the BBQ Showdown at Traders Village is sure to offer everyone |

| 18 | 18 | | in attendance the chance to enjoy good times and great food while |

| 19 | 19 | | supporting a worthwhile cause; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
