| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is making |

| 3 | 3 | | vital contributions to the strength and vitality of its community |

| 4 | 4 | | by providing area students with a solid educational foundation on |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | which to build; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Based in the city of Coppell, the district also |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | serves families in Valley Ranch, Grapevine, North Irving, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Dallas; the dedicated faculty and staff teach more than 12,800 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | students at the district's 17 schools; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of superintendent Brad Hunt, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the district seeks to foster an environment in which students |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | excel in every aspect of their education; among its numerous |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | successes, the district has produced many National Merit Scholar |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | finalists and semifinalists, and a number of district students |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | have won state sports contests and taken part in national speech |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and debate competitions; moreover, several of its campuses have |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | been named National Schools of Character, and the Coppell |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Independent School District was one of only four districts in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | nation to receive the title of National District of Character in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2016; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | committed to creating profound learning experiences for each |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | child while nurturing meaningful relationships that can |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | positively impact the world, and it is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby honor the Coppell Independent School |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | District for its service to the Dallas area and extend to all |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | those associated with the district sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | future; and, be it further |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 32 | 32 | | the Coppell Independent School District as an expression of |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | esteem from the Texas Senate. |
