| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |

| 3 | 3 | | citizens of Hutto in celebrating May 1, 2019, as Hutto Day at the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Nestled in the rich black lands of southeastern |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Williamson County, Hutto was one of the first villages in the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | area and was settled in 1855 by Swedish migrant J. E. Hutto and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | freed slave Adam Orgain; the city was incorporated by the State |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of Texas in 1911; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Cotton played a major role in the city's history, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and while the economy has continued to benefit from proud |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | agricultural traditions, it has thrived with a dynamic workforce |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and an increasing number of high-tech and manufacturing |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | industries; civic leaders have focused on conscientious |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | development projects that have brought in many new retail |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | establishments and contributed to citywide beautification; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Hutto benefit from a growing parks |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | system, flourishing public school and higher education |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | systems, and an award-winning emergency services district; in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2017, Hutto Fire and Rescue was named the Texas EMS First |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Responder of the Year; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Hutto is a vibrant and welcoming community and an |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | attractive place for residents and visitors alike; citizens can |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | be justifiably proud of their rich history while looking |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | forward to a future of continued growth and prosperity; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby welcome the visiting delegation from Hutto |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and extend to them best wishes for a rewarding Hutto Day at the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | State Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
