| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Austin Junior Forum on the occasion of its 50th |

| 4 | 4 | | anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Austin Junior Forum was founded on March 28, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 1969, and is one of nine Junior Forum, Incorporated, chapters in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Texas; the mission of this exemplary nonprofit volunteer |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | organization is to support women, children, and the elderly |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | through community service and fund-raising; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Austin Junior Forum members provide approximately |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 11,000 hours of community service annually to selected charities |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and nonprofit organizations; through the years, they have |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | created an array of public service initiatives, including the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Teddy Bear Program, the Forum Fling, and Caswell House etiquette |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | classes; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Daniel H. Caswell House is the Austin Junior |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Forum's headquarters and the site of its signature event, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Christmas at Caswell House; each year, this Texas Historic |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Landmark is transformed into a winter wonderland for the benefit |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of the organization's Grants Program, which has donated more than |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | $1.3 million to support women, children, and senior citizens; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, For 50 years, the Austin Junior Forum has been a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | leading philanthropic organization in the city, and it is truly |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | deserving of special recognition as it reaches this milestone in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | its history; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Austin Junior |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Forum on their commitment to public service and extend to all |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for the future on the occasion of the forum's 50th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | anniversary; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
