| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Naason Joaquin Garcia on the grand occasion of his 50th |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Naason |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Garcia was born May 7, 1969; he was baptized at the age of 14, and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | he was drawn to a life of spiritual service while still an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | adolescent; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Naason began sharing his faith as a youth |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | evangelist in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, and he went |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | on to serve with missionaries in Spain; he began pastoring in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1986, when he was asked to become a youth leader at the Church of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Beautiful Province; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, During his 28 years of pastoral leadership, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Naason ministered to congregations in Arizona and California; he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | also served as director of the Northern Jurisdiction of the Light |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of the World Church in Mexico, and he organized the Communication |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Center Berea USA to share the church's most important events via |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | video stream; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, in 1992, Naason married Alma Zamora Espinoza, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | he was blessed with three children, Adoraim, Eldai, and Sibma; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, A man of wisdom and strength, Naason Garcia is a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | beloved Christian leader and a respected advocate for human |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | rights and religious freedom; his birthday is indeed cause for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | celebration among his many friends and loved ones; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Naason Joaquin |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Garcia on his 50th birthday; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
