| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Karl Rimkus for his outstanding work as chair of the |

| 4 | 4 | | Senate District 29 Environmental Advisory Committee; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Karl Rimkus is operations manager for the City of |

| 6 | 6 | | El Paso's Environmental Services Department; he brings 17 years of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | experience with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | expertise in the field of environmental compliance to bear in his |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | position as chair of the Environmental Advisory Committee; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, As operations manager of the Environmental |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Services Department, he manages the city's Air Quality Program |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and the department's environmental engineering team; in his work |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | as chair of the advisory committee, he has brought together |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | individuals from throughout the community to establish the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Environmental Excellence Recognition Program; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This exemplary program works to create a culture |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of care for the environment through activities that promote, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | protect, and improve natural resources and the environment; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Karl Rimkus has played an important role in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | raising awareness of the importance of preserving our state's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | natural treasures, and it is truly fitting that he receive |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | special recognition for his leadership; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Karl Rimkus on his exceptional work |

| 25 | 25 | | as chair of the Senate District 29 Environmental Advisory |
