| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the delegation from Meals on Wheels and to join them in |

| 4 | 4 | | celebrating Meals on Wheels Texas Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels Texas is an affiliate of Meals on |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Wheels America, which supports more than 5,000 community-based |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | adult nutrition programs across the country; the Texas affiliate |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | was organized to promote and support member networking and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | best-practice sharing education and pilot programs and to manage |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the distribution of scholarship funds; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels programs in Texas employ more than |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10,000 individuals and succeed with the support of more than |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 100,000 dedicated volunteers who give generously of their time to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | those in need; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The staff and volunteers of Meals on Wheels Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | do more than deliver meals to the elderly and disabled; they also |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | assist vulnerable citizens with home repairs, prescription |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | delivery, pet care, and other supportive services that help them |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | live healthy lives in the homes they love; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend all associated with Meals on Wheels |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Texas for their invaluable humanitarian services and extend to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | them best wishes for a memorable Meals on Wheels Texas Day at the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | State Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |

| 26 | 26 | | honor of this organization and as an expression of esteem from |
|---|
