| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Katy Independent School District, which has been |

| 4 | 4 | | named the Advanced Placement Large District of the Year by the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | College Board; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Katy Independent School District has received |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | this prestigious honor for successfully expanding access to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | advanced placement classes and increasing performance on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | advanced placement exams over a three-year period; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Earning the title of Advanced Placement Large |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | District of the Year is a reflection of the district's ability to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | identify motivated, academically prepared students who are ready |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for placement into rigorous scholastic courses of study; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The district has also been named to the College |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Board's Annual Advanced Placement District Honor Roll for six |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | consecutive years; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that the district receive |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | special recognition for its exemplary record of preparing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | students with learning experiences that help them to face today's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | complex, ever-changing world; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the students, faculty, staff, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | administrators, and trustees of the Katy Independent School |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | District on their commitment to excellence in education and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend congratulations to all on the district's selection as the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | College Board Advanced Placement Large District of the Year; and, |
