| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Greater Houston Chapter of Associated Builders and |

| 4 | 4 | | Contractors on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Greater Houston Chapter of Associated |

| 6 | 6 | | Builders and Contractors was founded in 1969; the chapter |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | consists of more than 450 construction and construction-related |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | firms that represent thousands of local professional and craft |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | workers; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, the chapter has provided |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | leadership development resources and craft training programs for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the benefit of the construction industry; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The chapter has also created an array of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | initiatives to promote and support the building trades, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | including the Construction and Maintenance Education Foundation, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | which is focused on workforce development, training, and safety |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | through use of the curriculum of the National Center for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Construction Education and Research; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, For 50 years, the chapter has played a vital role |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | in the growth and prosperity of Houston and the surrounding area, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and it is truly fitting that this exemplary organization receive |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Greater Houston |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors on their many |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | contributions to the community and extend to them best wishes for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | a memorable 50th anniversary; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
