| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Michelle French for her outstanding service as president |

| 4 | 4 | | of the Tax Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michelle French is the tax assessor-collector for |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Denton County; elected to the position in 2012, she began her |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | career in the tax office in 1982 as a clerk, and she held a number |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | of important positions before her election, including those of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | supervisor, comptroller, and chief deputy; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Under her exemplary leadership, the tax office |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | has implemented numerous forward-thinking initiatives; the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | office has reorganized its service model by cross-training staff |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in motor vehicle and property tax analysis and has added |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | automated outgoing mail processes; in addition, queuing systems |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | have been installed to reduce customer wait times; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Michelle was named president of the Tax |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas in 2018 after having |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | served on multiple committees and as secretary-treasurer, vice |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | president external, and president-elect; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, She has twice received the association's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | President's Award, and her many other honors include the Denton |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | County Republican Women's Volunteer of the Year award and the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Woman of the Year award from the National Association of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Professional Women; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Michelle French on her exceptional |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | contributions to Denton County and to her profession and extend |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to her best wishes for continued success as president of the Tax |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas; and, be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
