11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Be An Angel for the organization's exceptional work on
44 behalf of disabled children; and
55 WHEREAS, Be An Angel was established in 1986 to help
66 children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness; and
77 WHEREAS, Since its founding, this outstanding organization
88 has launched a number of initiatives that have had a lasting
99 impact on the lives of disabled children and their families;
1010 among them are programs that provide such necessary equipment as
1111 hearing aids, van conversion kits, and barrier-free playgrounds;
1212 other efforts include the delivery of at-home respite care and a
1313 Christmas program through which gifts are provided to needy
1414 children; and
1515 WHEREAS, Camp Be An Angel in Burton has provided an
1616 opportunity for countless children to enjoy outdoor activities,
1717 and the organization's S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Golf program has given
1818 mainstream children the chance to gain a new perspective on
1919 special needs children by interacting with them; and
2020 WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Be An Angel has helped the
2121 most vulnerable members of our society live happier, healthier,
2222 and more productive lives, and it is truly fitting that the
2323 organization receive special recognition for the profound impact
2424 it has had on families in our state; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
2626 Legislature, hereby commend the leadership and staff of Be An
2727 Angel on their commitment to helping disabled children and extend
2828 to them best wishes for continued success with their invaluable
2929 services; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3131 this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from
3232 the Texas Senate.
