1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Be An Angel for the organization's exceptional work on
4	4	behalf of disabled children; and
5	5	WHEREAS, Be An Angel was established in 1986 to help
6	6	children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness; and
7	7	WHEREAS, Since its founding, this outstanding organization
8	8	has launched a number of initiatives that have had a lasting
9	9	impact on the lives of disabled children and their families;
10	10	among them are programs that provide such necessary equipment as
11	11	hearing aids, van conversion kits, and barrier-free playgrounds;
12	12	other efforts include the delivery of at-home respite care and a
13	13	Christmas program through which gifts are provided to needy
14	14	children; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Camp Be An Angel in Burton has provided an
16	16	opportunity for countless children to enjoy outdoor activities,
17	17	and the organization's S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Golf program has given
18	18	mainstream children the chance to gain a new perspective on
19	19	special needs children by interacting with them; and
20	20	WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Be An Angel has helped the
21	21	most vulnerable members of our society live happier, healthier,
22	22	and more productive lives, and it is truly fitting that the
23	23	organization receive special recognition for the profound impact
24	24	it has had on families in our state; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
26	26	Legislature, hereby commend the leadership and staff of Be An
27	27	Angel on their commitment to helping disabled children and extend
28	28	to them best wishes for continued success with their invaluable
29	29	services; and, be it further
30	30	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
31	31	this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from
32	32	the Texas Senate.
