| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Kristie Sanders, whose rapid response to an emergency |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | saved the life of a young boy; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Kristie Sanders is a kindergarten teacher at |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Brockett Elementary School in Aubrey; on April 4, 2019, she was |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in the cafeteria during the lunch period when she became aware |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | that one of her students, Lincoln McCraw, was choking on a piece |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of food; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, She immediately went to his aid and determined |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that he was suffering from a complete obstruction of his trachea, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | whereupon she successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver on |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the young boy and dislodged the obstruction; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Kristie Sanders prevented the serious injury or |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | death of her young student, and it is truly fitting that she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | receive special recognition for her heroic efforts; now, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby commend Kristie Sanders on her quick |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | thinking and decisive action and extend sincere appreciation to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | her for saving the life of this young Texan; and, be it further |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
