| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Terry G. McCoy, who is retiring on May 31, 2019, as |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Austin district engineer after 31 years of outstanding service |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | with the Texas Department of Transportation; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Terry McCoy began his long and distinguished |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | career with the Texas Department of Transportation as a summer |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | employee in the Burnet Resident Engineer's Office; after |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | graduating from Texas A&M University, he took a position in the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | newly formed Austin District South Travis Area Office; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, As a participant in the department's Master's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Program, he attended The University of Texas at Austin to earn |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his master's degree in civil engineering; Mr. McCoy then joined |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Design Division, where he remained until 2002 when he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | returned to the Austin District to serve as the Burnet Area |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | engineer; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, He went on to serve as the North Travis Area |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | engineer, director of Transportation Planning and Development, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and deputy district engineer; he became the district engineer for |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Austin District in 2016; talented and resourceful, he has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | received multiple honors for his work, notably the Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Transportation Institute's prestigious Luther DeBerry Award; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence with the Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Terry G. McCoy on his exceptional |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Department of Transportation and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
