| 4 | 4 | | Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas General Land Office |

| 6 | 6 | | Adopt-A-Beach program, the annual Children's Art Contest is open |

| 7 | 7 | | to students in kindergarten through sixth grade from all across |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the Lone Star State; for the 2019 competition, 40 winners were |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | chosen out of more than 3,900 entries; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Abby's artwork will be among those featured in the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 2020 Adopt-A-Beach calendar and displayed in the Capitol's South |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Central Gallery from May 21 to 28, 2019; she will also receive a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | number of other prizes, including tickets to the Texas State |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Aquarium and the Houston Zoo; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Abby Barnes has demonstrated outstanding skill |

| 16 | 16 | | and creativity, and her fine showing in the Children's Art |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Contest has brought great pride to her family and her school; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Abby Barnes as a winner of the |

| 21 | 21 | | 2019 Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest and extend |

| 22 | 22 | | to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
