| 3 | 3 | | initiative of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, are |

| 4 | 4 | | gathering in Austin on April 30, 2019, in celebration of Latinas |

| 5 | 5 | | in Action Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A nonpartisan and issue-neutral program, the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Latina Leadership Institute was established in 2015 with the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | mission of achieving greater representation for Hispanic women |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in elected and appointed offices at the local, state, and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | national levels; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The six-month program provides a highly |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | personalized experience tailored to help each Latina leader |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | master the competencies she needs to pursue her political |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | aspirations; participants benefit from a supportive environment |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for learning and skill practice and from the personal insights |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and perspectives of a group of facilitators and keynote speakers |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that includes political figures, community and business leaders, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and experts from academia; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, By helping Hispanic women recognize and build on |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | their talents, the Latina Leadership Institute is contributing |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | significantly to their potential to take on leadership roles and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to ultimately make a positive difference in their community, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | state, and nation; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby honor the members of the Latina Leadership |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Institute program on the occasion of their visit to the State |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Capitol for Latinas in Action Day and extend to them sincere best |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
