| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Madison Fuller is making a positive difference in |

| 3 | 3 | | the Lone Star State through her role as Miss Texas 2018; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Fuller captured the state title with her |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | exceptional performance in the Miss Texas Competition, held in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Richardson June 23-30, 2018; after being crowned Miss Texas, she |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | advanced to the 2019 Miss America Competition, where she garnered |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | a talent award for her skilled ventriloquism; she has |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | participated in pageants for many years and previously earned |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | recognition as Miss Texas Outstanding Teen 2010; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, In her reign as Miss Texas, Ms. Fuller makes many |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | public appearances to speak about such causes as the Texas Cares |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for Children program and the Children's Miracle Network, as well |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | as her personal platform, "Sock It to Cancer: Pediatric Cancer |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Awareness"; she has also helped raise more than $260,000 for the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Wipe Out Kids' Cancer telethon; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Fuller holds a degree in communications from |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texas A&M University, and she is currently working toward a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | master's degree in school counseling at Dallas Baptist |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | University; a third-generation educator, she has completed her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | first year as a kindergarten teacher at Dr. Bryan Jack Elementary |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | School in Tyler; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Madison Fuller has demonstrated a desire to excel |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in all her endeavors, and her talent and perseverance in the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | pursuit of her goals are sure to serve her well in the years |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby honor Madison Fuller for her contributions |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | as Miss Texas 2018 and extend to her sincere best wishes for |

| 30 | 30 | | continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
