| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the citizens of Georgetown in celebrating the grand opening |

| 4 | 4 | | of the Williamson County Georgetown Annex on May 3, 2019; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The new 60,000-square-foot Georgetown Annex |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | building brings the offices of the Williamson County Precinct 3 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | commissioner, constable, and justice of the peace together under |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | one roof for the first time; in addition to housing the elected |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | officials of Precinct 3, the building provides a modern space for |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the county's expanded veterans services center, its Texas A&M |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | AgriLife Extension office, and its purchasing and human |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | resources departments; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The two-story annex was designed by KAH |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Architecture and features large windows that enhance the space |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with natural light; other building highlights include a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | beautiful new justice of the peace courtroom, multiple meeting |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and conference rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, and a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | large training and teaching space with a kitchen for AgriLife |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Extension programming and cooking presentations; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The veterans services office was expanded to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 2,200 square feet and is located next to the building's entrance |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for easy access, and it includes an enlarged waiting area, larger |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | offices to accommodate private meetings, access to a conference |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | room, and room for further expansion in the future; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The Williamson County Georgetown Annex will help |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to streamline county services and the operations of Precinct 3 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | officials and will provide convenient access to resources for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | area residents; its grand opening is indeed cause for celebration |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | among residents and local leaders; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby commend all associated with the planning and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | construction of the Georgetown Annex and extend to all best |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | wishes on the occasion of the building's grand opening; and, be |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | it further |

| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor |
