| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Robert L. Price and Dr. Charmaine H. Price for their |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | exceptional work in the Dallas community; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Price and Dr. Charmaine Price are natives |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of the Chicago area and have been married to one another for 64 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | years; they moved to Dallas in 1968 when Mr. Price began his |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | longtime career with the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Company, and they soon became active in a number of civic |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | organizations; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Price began his work in public service by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | serving as a member of the Dallas Independent School District |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Board of Education; he held multiple leadership positions on the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | board, and he cofounded the Black Coalition to Maximize |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Education; he later served on the board of Dallas Area Rapid |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Transit; he has managed numerous political campaigns and has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | participated in a number of civil rights organizations; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Chicago State University, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Dr. Charmaine Price earned her doctorate in education at Texas |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Woman's University; she worked for many years as an educator in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the Dallas Independent School District, and her employment |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | included 14 years of service as principal of Harrell Budd |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Elementary School; in 1995, she founded Seniors Actively Guiding |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Education, which has had a profound impact on the lives of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | countless area students; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Price and Dr. Price have both served on the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | boards of many charitable and educational organizations and have |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | received numerous awards for their work; it is truly fitting that |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | they receive special recognition for their outstanding |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby commend Robert L. Price and Dr. Charmaine H. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Price on their countless contributions to the fabric of life in |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | the Dallas community and extend to them best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | success in all their endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

|---|
