| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Kevin Dickey, who is retiring on April 30, 2019, as |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | deputy district engineer in the Austin District after more than |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 32 years of outstanding service with the Texas Department of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Transportation; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Kevin Dickey began his distinguished career with |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the Texas Department of Transportation in 1987 in the Waco |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | District; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, he played an |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | important role in delivering numerous major projects in the Waco |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | District; most notably, he was part of the team that developed |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the 96-mile expansion of Interstate 35 through the district; he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | concluded his tenure in Waco as director of Transportation |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Planning and Development; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 2015, he was named deputy district engineer for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Austin District, where his management skills and leadership |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | abilities played an important role in the district's success; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | throughout his career, he has handled his many responsibilities |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence with the Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Kevin Dickey on his exceptional |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Department of Transportation and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
