| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, For nearly a quarter century, American Heritage |

| 6 | 6 | | Girls has sought to build women of integrity through service to |

| 7 | 7 | | God, family, community, and country; girls ages 5 through 18 may |

| 8 | 8 | | participate in activities that promote teamwork and build |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | confidence and also encourage spiritual, character, and social |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | development; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The organization strives to help girls acquire |

| 12 | 12 | | life skills through a badge program that includes such subjects |

| 13 | 13 | | as personal well-being, the arts, and science and technology; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | today, it boasts membership in all 50 states and 15 countries |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, By fostering faith and courage and inspiring |

| 17 | 17 | | young women to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | citizens and leaders, American Heritage Girls is enriching |

| 19 | 19 | | countless lives, and the group is indeed deserving of special |

| 20 | 20 | | recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby recognize May 16, 2019, as American Heritage |
