| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Spirit Championship follows a "game day" |

| 7 | 7 | | format designed to showcase the skills and techniques the squads |

| 8 | 8 | | have honed while cheering for their schools; this year, 486 teams |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | participated in the season, with only 20 advancing to the state |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | competition in each conference; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Brackett cheerleading squad |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distinguished themselves with their outstanding performance at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the state event; they earned 39.65 points in the fight song and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | band dance category and dominated the crowd leading category with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 46.45 points, for a total of 86.1 points; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the Spirit |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Championship, these outstanding young Texans have proudly |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | represented Brackett High, and the dedication the students have |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | demonstrated is sure to serve them well in the years ahead; now, |

| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Brackett High School |

| 23 | 23 | | varsity cheerleading team on winning third place in the 2019 |
