| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Reverend Daniel Hannon, who is retiring as senior |

| 4 | 4 | | pastor of Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands after |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 28 years of outstanding service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Hannon is the founding pastor of Christ |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Church United Methodist; he was appointed in 1991 to form a new |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | church in The Woodlands, and he knocked on doors to recruit the 14 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | families who made up the church's original membership; church |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | members worshipped at the South Montgomery County Community |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Center until they opened their first building on Christmas Eve of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1995; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the last 28 years, Pastor Hannon has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of his |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | congregation and of the community; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, An inspirational leader who is dedicated to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | helping others, he has prayed with and counseled his church |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | members in times of hardship and bereavement and rejoiced with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | them in times of celebration; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This beloved pastor has built a strong church |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community, and he has had a profound impact on the lives of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | countless people; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Reverend Daniel Hannon on his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exceptional service as senior pastor of Christ Church United |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Methodist and extend to him best wishes for continued success in |

| 27 | 27 | | all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
