| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Nicholas Brainard for achieving the rank of |

| 4 | 4 | | Eagle Scout; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This fine young man is a member of Scouts BSA |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Troop 155 in Georgetown; as he joins the elite corps of Eagles, he |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | will receive the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | small percentage of boys in the Scouts BSA program attain the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | rank of Eagle Scout; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | promise, Nicholas advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Scout; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | through planning, developing, and conducting a service project |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that benefited his community; for his project, he led a group of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Scouts in making improvements to the First Presbyterian Church |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Cemetery in Georgetown; their work included clearing brush, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | power-washing headstones, and removing debris; he is truly a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | shining example to his fellow Scouts and the young people of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Nicholas has brought |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | his state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Nicholas Brainard on earning this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | achievement; and, be it further |
