| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their |

| 6 | 6 | | memories of Aaron A. Ard of Waco, who passed away on May 3, 2019, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 84; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Samuel Ard and Lessie Harrell Ard, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Aaron Ard was born in Florence, South Carolina, on December 11, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1934, and grew up with two sisters and a brother; he joined the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | United States Air Force, and over the course of a military career |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | that spanned 22 years, he served his country during both the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Korean War and the Vietnam War; following his retirement, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | worked for Ram Aircraft for 18 years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Ard and his wife, Barbara, shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | marriage that spanned nearly six decades; he was the devoted |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | father of three sons, David, who preceded him in death, Aaron, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and Donald; through the years, he welcomed into his treasured |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | family six grandchildren, Dennis, Matthew, Cody, Steven, Jacob, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and Erin; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | his country, Aaron Ard earned the lasting respect and admiration |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of all who were privileged to know him, and he will forever hold |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | a special place in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Aaron Ard and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | it further |
