| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Robert G. Gonzalez Sr., who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | April 20, 2019, at the age of 85; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gonzalez Sr. was born on March 2, 1934, in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Refugio, to Lalo and Anita Gonzalez; he served the nation with |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | distinction in the United States Army as a rifle master and a tank |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | driver; he was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | several businesses in Robstown; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez was devoted to his family; he was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | blessed with three children, Robert Gonzalez Jr., Sandra |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Gonzalez, and the late Sylvia Gonzalez Landeros, by his first |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | wife, Emilia Gonzalez, and he was blessed with two stepchildren, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Felipe Zuniga and Margarita Zuniga, by his second wife, the late |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Marie Zuniga Gonzalez; his six grandchildren and his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great-grandson were a source of much pride and joy for him; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | share in his life; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gonzalez was beloved by many, and he leaves |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | family of Robert G. Gonzalez Sr.; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 31 | 31 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
