4	4	Martin Siller Cuellar Sr.
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
6	6	citizens of Laredo in mourning the loss of Martin Siller Cuellar
7	7	Sr. of Laredo, who died April 13, 2019, at the age of 92; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born May 22, 1926, in Guerrero Viejo, Tamaulipas,
9	9	Mexico, Martin Cuellar was a beloved gentleman who enriched the
10	10	lives of those who knew him through his wisdom, his integrity,
11	11	and the kindness he bestowed on friends and strangers; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Martin Cuellar met Odilia Perez in the plaza in
13	13	his hometown, and they soon married and immigrated to the
14	14	United States; Martin took on migrant work in Utah, Idaho, and
15	15	Colorado, and he and Odilia moved to Laredo after starting
16	16	their family; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cuellar reared their eight children
18	18	by loving example; Mr. Cuellar provided for his family as a
19	19	laborer and ranch manager, and he taught his children that
20	20	dignity comes with an honest living and that all people are
21	21	deserving of kindness and respect; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Mr. Cuellar was grateful for the opportunities he
23	23	found in his adopted country and was proud to become a
24	24	naturalized citizen of the United States; he was beloved by many,
25	25	and memories of him long will be treasured by those privileged to
26	26	share in his life; now, therefore, be it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
28	28	Legislature,herebyextendsincerecondolencestothebereaved
29	29	family of Martin Siller Cuellar Sr.: his children, Henry
30	30	Cuellar, Carlos Cuellar, Martin Cuellar Jr., Tony Cuellar, Jorge
31	31	Cuellar, Odilia Cuellar, Rosie Cuellar, and Manuel Cuellar, and
32	32	his eighteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one
33	33	great-great-granddaughter; and, be it further
34	34	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
35	35	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
36	36	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
37	37	memory of Martin Cuellar Sr.
