| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Hallel Stephens of Hutto on the occasion of her |

| 4 | 4 | | graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Hallel's graduation is the culmination of |

| 6 | 6 | | diligent study in a curriculum designed to challenge her and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | broaden her knowledge; she is celebrating this milestone in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | commencement exercises on May 30, 2019; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Hallel can take pride in having earned her diploma |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | from the Texas School for the Deaf; the school is respected in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | academic circles in Texas, as well as nationally, for its quality |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of instruction and dedication to excellence in teaching; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A talented and hardworking student, Hallel has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | been active in the Black Deaf Student Union, and she served as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | manager for the cross-country team and the basketball team; she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | also worked after school at the Deaf Smith Center, and she looks |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | forward to pursuing a career in the culinary arts; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Hallel can face the future with confidence that |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | her proven abilities, learning skills, and acquired knowledge |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | will hold her in good stead for whatever vocation she chooses; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Hallel Stephens on her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
