95 SENATE RESOLUTION
106 WHEREAS, Texas is the nation's leading trade state, and its
117 future prosperity depends on bolstering trade among our North
128 American partners; and
13- WHEREAS, The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA),
14- which awaits ratification by the United States Congress, will
15- create a more level playing field for American workers, ensure
16- opportunities for trade in United States services, and benefit
17- farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness; moreover, it modernizes
18- protections for intellectual property, promotes collaboration in
19- tackling cybersecurity, and ensures that digital trade data can be
20- transferred cross-border with protections for the global digital
21- ecosystem; and
9+ WHEREAS, The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement
10+ (USMCA), which awaits ratification by the United States
11+ Congress, will create a more level playing field for American
12+ workers, ensure opportunities for trade in United States
13+ services, and benefit farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness;
14+ moreover, it modernizes protections for intellectual property,

2218 WHEREAS, Texas exports totaled $315 billion in 2018; the
2319 state accounts for almost 20 percent of the nation's trade total,
2420 and 45 percent of Lone Star exports are destined for Mexico and
2521 Canada; more than 90 percent of Texas exporters are small
26- businesses, and the USMCA cuts red tape, making it easier for them
27- to tap into foreign markets; approximately 44 percent of our

5956 official copies of this resolution to the president of the United
