| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee |

| 3 | 3 | | of the Texas Senate is tasked with handling a myriad of duties |

| 4 | 4 | | relating to legislation that benefits our veterans, military |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service members, and the security of the Texas border; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Five college students graciously served during |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the duration of the legislative session as interns for the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | committee and were consistently hardworking and indefatigable in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | spirit; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The dedication shown by these student interns was |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | crucial to the committee's ability to accomplish its tasks in a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | timely and proficient manner; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The best and most honorable traits that have |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | become synonymous with our nation's military veterans were |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | exhibited daily by these interns; their service was in keeping |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the highest traditions of the United States Armed Forces as |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | they brought credit upon themselves, their institutions of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | higher learning, and the military veterans community at large; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend Captain Nathaniel Clark, Sergeant |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Michael Garcia, Robert Lewis, Marshall Newton, and Charles Pike |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for their service to the Texas Senate and the Veteran Affairs and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Border Security Committee and extend to them best wishes in all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | their future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
