| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Trinity University Police Department has |

| 4 | 4 | | accreditation by the International Association of Campus Law |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Enforcement Administrators; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Representing campus public safety leaders at more |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | than 1,200 institutions of higher education, the IACLEA has |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | offered accreditation to college and university police, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | security, and public safety departments since 2007; its rigorous |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | accreditation standards have been developed by association |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | members from both sworn and non-sworn agencies; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The Trinity University Police Department provides |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | expert 24-hour police and security coverage for the university |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | community 365 days a year, and its officers are all fully |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | certified Texas Peace Officers and licensed under the Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Education Code; the department was previously accredited by the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Texas Police Chiefs Association's Best Practices Program in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 2014, the first private university to receive this honor, and it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | was reaccredited by the TPCA in 2018; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Chief Paul J. Chapa, the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | men and women of the Trinity University Police Department have |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | demonstrated their commitment to the highest levels of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | professionalism, and this prestigious accolade acknowledges |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | their success in upholding these rigorous standards; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Trinity University Police |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Department on its accreditation by the International Association |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and extend to the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | department's personnel sincere best wishes for continued success |
