| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Gracie L. Paredes for 40 years of exemplary service |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | with the Cameron County Sheriff's Office; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Gracie began her career with the sheriff's office |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | as an administrative secretary on September 14, 1978; due to a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | lack of women officers in her early years of employment, she |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | often assisted the deputies with cases involving females; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In the course of her long career, Gracie provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | assistance to various law enforcement agencies, county judges, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | commissioners, and colleagues, and she earned the respect and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | admiration of the citizens of Cameron County; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Gracie Paredes manifested uncommon talent in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | handling her diverse responsibilities, and she was widely |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | admired for her kind smile, her patient demeanor, and her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | willingness to assist wherever she was needed; she retired from |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Cameron County Sheriff's Office in November of 2018, and her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | presence has been greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend Gracie L. Paredes on her outstanding |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | career and her many contributions to Cameron County and extend to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
