1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 806
2	2	WHEREAS, A group of 11 dedicated students from The
3	3	University of Texas Rio Grande Valley have rendered outstanding
4	4	service to the Texas Legislature during the 86th Session as
5	5	participants in the Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship
6	6	Program; and
7	7	WHEREAS, This initiative offers students at the university
8	8	an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and to
9	9	build valuable experience while putting their skills and
10	10	knowledge to work; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Each participant is placed with a legislative
12	12	office and is immersed in an environment that combines academic
13	13	rigor with real-world responsibility; individuals selected for
14	14	this prestigious program work full-time during the session and
15	15	must also complete two political science courses for academic
16	16	credit; and
17	17	WHEREAS, This year's class of interns includes Khalid
18	18	Aboujamous, who is working in the office of Senator Judith
19	19	Zaffirini, Erick Longoria in the office of Senator Eddie Lucio
20	20	Jr., Giovanni Rosas Escobedo in the office of Senator Juan "Chuy"
21	21	Hinojosa, Javier Bustos in the office of Representative Terry
22	22	Canales, Jesús Galindo in the office of Representative Alex
23	23	Dominguez, Mónica García in the office of Representative Oscar
24	24	Longoria, Ylana Robles in the office of Representative Armando
25	25	"Mando" Martinez, Jacquelynn Hernandez in the office of
26	26	Representative Ryan Guillen, Bertha Lance in the office of
27	27	Representative Eddie Lucio III, Stacie Morales in the office of
28	28	Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra, and Eric Vargas in the
29	29	office of Representative Sergio Muñoz Jr.; and
30	30	WHEREAS, The members of this notable group have performed
31	31	their duties as legislative interns with great skill and
32	32	diligence, and they are indeed deserving of special recognition
33	33	for their fine work; now, therefore, be it
34	34	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
35	35	Legislature, hereby commend the participants in the Rio Grande
36	36	Valley Legislative Internship Program for their contributions to
37	37	the Texas Legislature and extend to them sincere best wishes for
38	38	continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further
39	39	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
40	40	the interns as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
