44 Bobby Lynn Renson
55 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew
66 to a close with the passing of Bobby Lynn Renson of Tyler on May
77 16, 2019, at the age of 85; and
88 WHEREAS, The son of Eddie and Euba Renson, Bobby Renson was
99 born in Arp on March 10, 1934, and he grew up with the
1010 companionship of three brothers, Charles, Eddie, and Roy; and
1111 WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Renson
1212 joined the United States Army at the age of 18, and over the
1313 course of his 23-year tenure as a military police officer, he
1414 served in Korea and Vietnam; his career highlights included
1515 flying on Air Force One with President Dwight D. Eisenhower and
1616 guarding the Bikini Atoll nuclear bomb testing site; after
1717 retiring in 1976 at the rank of sergeant major, he worked for the
1818 United States Post Office and earned a criminology degree from
1919 The University of Texas at Tyler; and
2020 WHEREAS, Mr. Renson shared a rewarding marriage that
2121 spanned more than five decades with Helen Beverly Renson, and
2222 they were blessed with two children, Tammy and Ricky, and three
2323 grandchildren, Christine, Nicholas, and Caitlin; after
2424 Mrs. Renson's death in 2011, Mr. Renson was fortunate enough to
2525 find love again, and he spent the last years of his life with his
2626 second wife, the former Mamie Marshall; in his leisure time, he
2727 enjoyed taking care of a beloved menagerie of pets and reading
2828 Western and spy novels; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although Bobby Renson will be deeply missed, he
3030 has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that
3131 they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
3333 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobby Lynn Renson
3434 and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn his
3535 passing; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
3737 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
3838 this day, it do so in memory of Bobby Lynn Renson.
