| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | to a close with the passing of Bobby Lynn Renson of Tyler on May |

| 7 | 7 | | 16, 2019, at the age of 85; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Eddie and Euba Renson, Bobby Renson was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | born in Arp on March 10, 1934, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of three brothers, Charles, Eddie, and Roy; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Renson |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | joined the United States Army at the age of 18, and over the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | course of his 23-year tenure as a military police officer, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | served in Korea and Vietnam; his career highlights included |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | flying on Air Force One with President Dwight D. Eisenhower and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | guarding the Bikini Atoll nuclear bomb testing site; after |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | retiring in 1976 at the rank of sergeant major, he worked for the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | United States Post Office and earned a criminology degree from |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | The University of Texas at Tyler; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Renson shared a rewarding marriage that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | spanned more than five decades with Helen Beverly Renson, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | they were blessed with two children, Tammy and Ricky, and three |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | grandchildren, Christine, Nicholas, and Caitlin; after |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Mrs. Renson's death in 2011, Mr. Renson was fortunate enough to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | find love again, and he spent the last years of his life with his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | second wife, the former Mamie Marshall; in his leisure time, he |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | enjoyed taking care of a beloved menagerie of pets and reading |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Western and spy novels; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Although Bobby Renson will be deeply missed, he |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobby Lynn Renson |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn his |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | passing; and, be it further |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
